Factual Errors,
This book has factual errors. It has been converted from a book about Apple and Apple’s iTunes App Store to a book about Google and Google’s Android Market app store, but not proof read by someone familiar with the Android Market after that conversion was done. It gets things wrong like the sections of the app store and saying that Google approves your app before it is posted. Apple approves your app, but with Google’s app store your app is posted immediately, so you can see how mistakes like this crept in.

|Android Apps Marketing,
A while ago I read this author’s marketing book about iapps. This book focused on identifying the target audience of your particular apps (completed app). Then, using this information in social media and well-timed press releases to get people to download your products, get reviews, and add to the word of mouth promotion. The author also included a sobering discussion about the realities of creating a “big win” app. Suggesting instead, that your target should be the “steady win”.
All in all, I felt that the iapp book by this author gave solid advice so when I came upon Android Apps Marketing, I was eager to see how android apps would be marketed differently than iapps. Evidentially, there isn’t a whole lot of difference. This book is virtually the same as the iapp book. In fact, most of the material is word for word the same. The stats are modified and the word Android replaces Apple. That’s about it.

|Best Resource for an Android Newbie,
I have the Nook version, but I wanted a version to be able to thumb through and set bookmarks and grab it from the shelf during development, therefore I bought a hard copy as well. Great examples of working with SQLite and nice intro to Services with the IntentService. Definately recommend this for anyone like me (new to android dev). I really like how in depth the author is with helping me understand intents and the system behind them that runs android. Great stuff!

|Great book.,
I would buy Beginning Programming with Java for dummies first, unless you are already Ok with Java Programming. I bought both books at the same time, so when I was done with one I could continue into the other. For Dummies is a great bunch of books.
